Tips for choosing a school
Key considerations for students and parents when selecting a school:
- Location.
- Is it in regional Victoria or metropolitan Melbourne?
- Is it located near relatives you may have in Victoria?
- Does the school offer the academic subjects you want to study? Check the tables at the back of Right School Right Place 2008 publication (PDF - 7.3Mb)
- Does the school offer any special programs you would be interested in? For example, music, drama, tennis, sailing or vocational education subjects.
- Can you study your first language at the school?
- Do you want to study at a large school or a small school?
- Would you prefer to study in a school with a lot or very few international students?
- If you would prefer to study with very few international students, you should consider a school in regional Victoria.
