Teacher Programs
Teaching training and professional development
The Victorian Department of Education & Training offers professional development and training services to overseas schools, educational institutions and authorities.
Drawing on Victoria's expertise in education innovation, the Department offers both structured and customised training programs for education administrators and managers, policy makers and education planning professionals as well as specialist curriculum teachers.
The Department Professional Development Program (DPDP) Training for teachers
The Department Professional Development Program , or DPDP, offers a unique benefit to schools and teachers.
It equips teachers with state-of-the-art knowledge, skills and training. The increasing use of technology, the right of every child to an education, a change in focus from inputs to outcomes and the need for children to learn to manage rather than simply acquire information means that there is an urgent need in every school to up-grade teachers' skills, knowledge and qualifications.
The DPDP is specifically designed for practicing teachers, consists of discrete modules and can be delivered after school hours or adjacent to vacation time. Individual schools, groups of schools or other educational institutions can choose from an established suite of modules or be involved in developing a custom-designed program. Pre-structured and accredited training for teachers is also available.
Customised training programs
Drawing on Victoria's vast education expertise, Department is able to design and deliver professional training services for education systems overseas. Customised training programs can be prepared in response to specific organisational needs and educational objectives.
Curriculum and education resources
The Department produces a wide range of leading education and curriculum resources designed to enhance the delivery of education and training. These resources are the result of Victoria's commitment and investment in continuous improvement and quality education delivery.
The development of education and curriculum resources is expensive and time consuming. It requires extensive research, writing, testing involves the additional costs of print production and distribution. Victoria has developed a wide range of proven education and curriculum resources that are now offered to international education authorities, organisations and individuals for use and adaptation in the delivery of education overseas.
