The Department is providing free tourism, sporting and entertainment activities for homestay international students and their homestay families over the summer holidays.

International Student Summer Holiday Photo Competition

Take selfies with your homestay family this summer holidays and win exciting prizes! 

Simply send up to 3 selfies with your homestay and a tourist destination in the background. This can include destinations as part of the summer holiday program.

Make sure your selfie is clear, no filters and be creative!

  • First prize: $100 digital Officeworks or JB HIFI voucher
  • Second prize: $50 digital Officeworks or JB HIFI voucher
  • Third prize: $25 digital Officeworks or JB HIFI voucher

To enter: Fill out a Privacy consent form for everyone in the photo. Send your selfies to international.marketing@education.vic.gov.au.

Free passes for whole homestay families

Free passes are available for your whole homestay family to the following activities:

  • AFLW matches - passes available, to register email: international.marketing@education.vic.gov.au

  • Melbourne Aquarium - Sold out

  • Puffing Billy - Sold out

  • NGV Gabrielle Chanel exhibition - Sold out

  • Melbourne Zoo - Sold out

  • Werribee Open Range Zoo - Sold out

  • Healesville Sanctuary - Sold out.

You must attend the above venues with your homestay family.

Most of these activities do not have pre-allocated dates allowing you to book times and dates that suit you and your homestay family.

Important information

Please note that proof of being fully vaccinated is required for entry all summer holidays program activities. You must also adhere to all venue COVIDSafe requirements.

Places are strictly limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. Places are strictly limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis with each onshore international student able to apply for a maximum of five (5) Summer Holidays passes in total.

Attendance for non-homestay students

The summer holidays program is designed to help homestay students feel a welcome part of our community given they have been separated from their parents and families due to border restrictions. The Department will invite non-homestay students to participate if passes are available after the initial allocation to homestay students.
