Building Global Citizenship

Building Global Citizenship (BGC) is an immersive professional learning program for school leaders aimed at developing an understanding of effective global engagement and how it translates to the school curriculum, practice, community and Victorian government policy.

Program structure

A key focus for the program in 2021 was the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO) dimension of 'Community Engagement with Global Citizenship' combined with a focus on Intercultural Capability area of the Victorian Curriculum F-10, and a range of wider contextual briefings and networks. These build towards a school-based project that seed the change within school communities. The program included an oversea component and a range of modules and tasks that took participants through the research, insights, and connections to global citizenship.
