Gia Hung (Chris) has demonstrated strong leadership throughout his time in Australia, excelling in his roles as International Student Leader and Student Representative Council (SRC) President. His efforts have increased inclusivity, strengthened community ties and enhanced the student experience.
As International Student Leader, Chris organised engagement activities like Lunar New Year and Harmony Week, bridging cultural gaps and encouraging connections between local and international students. He initiated events such as chess tournaments, karaoke nights and orientation sessions, creating spaces for students to connect and thrive in their new environment.
In his role as SRC President, Chris spearheaded initiatives to increase student voice and wellbeing, introducing a student mailbox to gather ideas and concerns. His planning ensured the success of events like Wellington's Got Talent and fundraisers that enriched school life and supported charities.
Empathy, organisation and collaboration define Chris’ leadership. His dedication to inclusivity and community ensured all students felt valued, supported and empowered to thrive.
