Kanitha (Storm) demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication as the International Student Captain of Parkdale Secondary College. Since joining the school, Storm has worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for both international and local students. Her involvement in the Student Representative Council (SRC) has seen her organising initiatives that promote diversity, cultural harmony and community engagement.
Storm has led impactful events such as R U OK Day and the school’s food drive, where her efforts inspired widespread participation and raised awareness for important causes. She gave an inspiring speech on gender equality at the Kingston Council International Women’s Day Awards, that resonated with an audience of 500 people.
Storm's advocacy extends to academic support, where she established a study group to help international students overcome language barriers and thrive academically. Her leadership, empathy and passion for inclusion have made her an invaluable member of the school community.
