Teacher professional learning

Global learning and engagement professional learning provides opportunities for teachers to learn from world's best practice, develop new knowledge and skills, build practice excellence and evaluate their impact on learning.

In 2018-19, the department piloted a teacher professional learning program focussed explicitly on the intercultural capability in the Victorian F-10 Curriculum. The Intercultural Champions Program involved 39 classroom teachers from Victorian government primary and secondary schools drawn from all regions. Teachers built their teaching expertise and their ability to work with colleagues, to carry out curriculum change and improve teaching and curriculum outcomes in intercultural capability.

This project enabled teachers to deepen their understanding of intercultural capability and apply this in their own school and community context.
